Box Office Policies
Box Office Hours
The box office will be open two hours prior to every event at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts. The box office closes directly after intermission for every show or 30 minutes after the beginning if the show does not have an intermission.
The Box Office accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, cash, and gift cards.
Will call is available at the box office before every show. Unclaimed will call tickets are nonrefundable. Late arrivals with will call tickets after the box office closes can pick them up from the house manager.
If you will be picking up will call tickets, please arrive at least thirty minutes prior to the event start.
Assistive Listening Devices are available at the Cloak Room free of charge. A driver's license or credit card will be held in The Box Office until the device is returned.
Accessible Seating is available in the Orchestra and Balcony sections of The Lindenwood Theater. The Boyle Family Gallery and all Emerson Black Box Theater productions are fully accessible.
Accessible parking is located on the east and west sides of The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
The elevator is located on the left side of The Grand Lobby.
All restrooms within the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts are fully accessible. Restrooms are located on the left and right side of The Grand Lobby on the Orchestra Level. Additional restrooms are located on the left side of The Grand Lobby's upper level. A Family restroom is located on the right side of The Grand Lobby on the Orchestra level.
Proper theater attire is required for all performances. Business casual is preferred for traditional performances while more casual attire is acceptable for concerts. Front of house management may use their discretion regarding inappropriate attire.
Children 5 years old and older are welcome to attend performances in The Lindenwood Theater. Select performances within The Emerson Black Box Theater do permit children under the age of 5 years. Please contact The Box Office to inquire as to which performances this exception applies. For the continued enjoyment of your fellow patrons, we ask that crying children and those that cannot remain in their assigned seats to be escorted from the theater by their parents until they are able to quietly return to their seats.
Concessions are available for all Scheidegger Center Touring Series events. Generally, neither food or unprotected drink are permitted into any theater. For Touring Series performances, beer and wine is available for purchase. For patrons who wish to take their beverage into the theater, special Scheidegger cups are available for purchase.
Please bear in mind that most intermissions are 15 minutes in length when making your food and drink purchases.
All patrons (including children) are required to have their own tickets for ticketed events and to occupy the seats indicated on their tickets. Please do not rest your legs or feet on the seat or rails in front of you. For the safety of others, please keep all personal belongings under your seat and out of the aisles.
As a courtesy to fellow theater patrons and the performers, late arrivals will be seated at the discretion of the house management at an appropriate point in the performance.
The use of cameras, cell phones, or sound recording equipment of any kind is strictly prohibited. Should an usher notice your use of one of these devices, you may be asked to exit the theater.
Cell Phone Policy
Please silence your cell phones, pagers, PDA, and any other noise-making devices prior to the beginning of any performance. Please also refrain from texting or emailing during the performance. If an usher notices your cellphone use, you may be asked to exit the theater.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Lindenwood University campus, including in or around the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts.
In Case of Emergency
Should an emergency arise during a performance in any theater within The J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts, please calmly make your way to the green exit sign closest to your seat, which indicates the shortest route out of the theater. Should you need to be contacted during a performance, please leave your telephone number and seat numbers with a Box Office associate prior to entering the theater.
Anybody may register for any upcoming theater tour dates by calling or visiting the box office. These tours are led by our patron management staff.
COVID-19 Refund Policy (Expires December 31, 2021)
Due to the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, all tickets will be totally refundable except for all service fees, including the $5 per order WEB Convenience fee, through December 31, 2021. Refunds must be redeemed prior to the event’s scheduled start time. After December 31, our standard refund policy will return as follows:

Refunds are not permitted except in the case of event cancellation. Refunds are provided for the face value of the ticket only. Service and handling fees are not refundable.
If an event is cancelled, patrons will be refunded immediately if they paid online with a credit card. Patrons who paid with cash or check will receive a mailed check within 30 days of the cancellation announcement.
All ticket sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges based on unmet expectations. We do not offer refunds or exchanges after the event has been performed. If a patron was unable to attend an event, we do not offer refunds or exchanges regardless of circumstances.
Tickets are not refundable or transferrable if a patron is no longer able to attend the show due to personal reasons.
We do not provide refunds or exchanges for comp tickets or tickets provided through other vendors under any circumstances, including event cancellation.
Third-Party Ticket Vendors
The Lindenwood University Campus Box Office is the only official vendor for performances at the J. Scheidegger Center for the Arts and Lindenwood Lions athletic events. Tickets obtained from any other source cannot be guaranteed because they may be counterfeit or otherwise invalid. Any tickets acquired from a source other than the campus box office are purchased at your own risk, are not refundable, and cannot be exchanged. Management reserves the right to revoke any privilege of admission to any person who possesses a counterfeit or invalid ticket.
